Versions
If you have a few ideas for a headline, you do not need to pick one. Put them together as a version set. Version Compare shows one alternative at a time and favours those that lead to your goal as results come in, while continuing to try the others.
Mark your alternatives
<section data-vc>
<h1 data-vc-version>Coffee for your everyday ritual</h1>
<h1 data-vc-version hidden>A better start to your morning</h1>
</section>Use one or more direct alternatives inside data-vc. Currently, sets must sit outside one another. For the browser script, we recommend one initially visible alternative and hidden on the others. The proxy does not need this: it removes unselected alternatives before sending the page.
Sets are discovered automatically, including sets inserted later by JavaScript. A stable container id or unique data-vc-id keeps a moving set together. Changed content starts fresh results for that version.
On the Versions tab, sets are grouped by page. Visits count only versions actually observed on the visible page. Visitors keep seeing the version chosen for them, while new visitors help us compare the alternatives.
Next: choose what counts as a goal, or read about what visitors see before the script loads.
